In only 6 days I am going to be kicking off my very own personal weight loss challenge in a very long time! I hopped onto the scales the other day and I was NOT happy with what I saw!
I am not “overweight”, but I AM carrying more fat than I should be for my body type – and most of it has settled nicely around my middle. I want it GONE! I’ve also cleared the energetic toxins from my system, and I am continuously finding new chemical-free products to replace in my home as I go about my week, so it’s a process but I’m determined to succeed!
So… I thought I’d share my thoughts on how I am going to prepare for this challenge in the hope that it will help you too. Here goes:
- Determine your “why”. Why do you want to get healthier and lose weight? Is it so you can feel better about yourself? Would it feel amazing to have more energy? Do you want to feel more confident? Or is it that you want to have the energy to run around with your kids, because right now, that’s just not happening?
- Find a weight loss program that suits you. I found R3 through my Wellness Shopping Club, which suits me perfectly. It’s a short challenge (only 6 weeks), it’s flexible, and it gives me the freedom to eat most of the foods I want, with a few exceptions. I am also able to purchase supplements and other items to support my journey at preferred customer pricing, saving me loads of $$$’s!
- Determine which foods are in and which foods are out. Use the “Yes” foods list to work your meals around – and plan! Planning is key here! Work out what you want to eat, and plan your whole week so you can prep accordingly.
- Schedule exercise – 15 minutes of strength training as well as 15 minutes of interval training, three times per week should be enough to get you started! That’s only 90 minutes per week – you can do this!!! And you don’t even have to join a gym!
- Make sure you have water with you wherever you go. Through my shopping club we have these little sachets which contain electrolytes to help you rehydrate, rebound, and recover. I will be having at least one of these throughout the day, mixed with water.
- Give yourself the freedom to “fall off the wagon” occasionally. If you’re sticking to your plan at least 80% of the time, I am pretty sure you’ll see some good results!
