Fit Yummy Mummy Team Challenge

Wow, it’s been some time since I last posted and I have to say, things are not looking pretty with me right now.

I had a pretty tough year last week, mostly brought about by the birth control pill I’d been taking (if you’re taking Yaz or Yasmin, please stop taking it NOW!), and when my relationship ended, I kind of lost motivation to keep working out and eating healthy.

So over the last few weeks I’ve been trying to motivate myself to get off my butt and do something about my body.  Ok, I’m not “overweight”, but I’ve got a lot more fat around my middle than I had before – and it really doesn’t look good.  I don’t feel good about it either.

So here’s my stats as of yesterday:

Age:  41
Height: 5’7″/170cm
Weight:  131.8lbs/59.8kg
Waist: 32″/81cm
Hips: 37.5″/95cm
To most women, these stats probably don’t look so good, but I can tell you that I’m nowhere near as lean as I’m comfortable with – and this is the “heaviest” I’ve ever been (not including pregnancies)!!
I’ve been trying to come up with a way to stay focused, and thankfully the Fit Yummy Mummy did her thing and announced a TEAM challenge!
This challenge involves 28 days of eating 80-90% clean plus exercising for 90 minutes per week with a combination of strength and cardio workouts.  And the beauty of this challenge is that I’m held accountable to around 8 other women who I have to check in with every week.  So if I slack off, I’m letting them all down!!!
We are scored on how well we stick to the healthy habits we’re challenged to include in our day, and the winning team wins a prize!
I’m very excited to start this challenge, which for me begins tomorrow!  Wish me luck – and I’ll post before/after pics at the end!  🙂
