Using excuses to get out of exercising

May 29, 2012 by Michelle

I came across a picture which was posted on Facebook today, and the subsequent comments which kind of fired me up a little.

Check out the picture I’ve posted here, and what’s written on it.

What Gwyneth is saying is that she looks how she looks because she works for it.  Fair enough I say!

But the comments posted about this picture really amazed me!  A few women posted comments about how her lifestyle and income are the reasons she’s able to work out as often and as hard as she does.

Really???

Funny that, but I definitely do not have the amazing lifestyle she has, but at 40, I think I look pretty good in comparison, and I don’t put in nearly as much effort as she does (although I do come close).  So how can I do it if I don’t have her money etc?

Sadly, I think that there are many people out there who really do want to lose weight… but they don’t want it enough.  So they will use every excuse to explain why they couldn’t exercise, or why they ate junk food.

The bottom line is this:  If you don’t want it enough, you won’t give it the commitment it deserves.

Losing weight is simple, and really just comes down to eating the right foods and exercising regularly, but it’s not easy to maintain momentum and stick to your plan, if you’re so used to doing the “wrong” things.

So how much do you want to lose weight?  How much effort are you prepared to put in?  How many excuses are you prepared to push aside to get the body you want?

Make weight loss your absolute priority, stop making excuses, take action, and you WILL get results!
