If you want to lose weight, there are things you can do which will make things a little easier, no matter how much you need to lose.
Here we’ve provided some exercise ideas which will help you to start the process of losing weight – without starving yourself or forcing yourself to see results via diet pills. Never resort to starvation. As for pills? I’m not a fan, to be honest!
If you’ve not really exercised before, the first practical exercise idea is to start walking. Start off with shorter walks, and as your fitness improves, lengthen them. It’s a good idea to walk fast enough so you’re a little short of breath, but not starving yourself of oxygen!
I prefer walking amongst nature, but a treadmill might be your preference – it doesn’t really matter, as long as you’re moving!
Another idea worth considering is to engage a personal trainer. Many trainers work from gyms, or even from your local park.
The beauty of a personal trainer is that they will push you beyond where you’d likely push yourself, so they’re a great motivator!
If you can’t afford a personal trainer on your own, many offer Bootcamps, where you pay a small fee and you’re part of a group and here you can make some amazing friendships too!
Be careful not to overdo things, especially at first. If you do this you will likely burn out, and the muscle soreness will take over and give you the best excuse possible to give up on yourself. Don’t let that happen!
I tend to get bored doing the same thing every time, so mix things up a bit, working different muscles while doing different exercises. But remember to start slowly as I mentioned before.
The important thing is to get moving and keep moving.
Another final exercise idea I have that will help you to lose weight has nothing to do with exercise at all!
It’s time to work your mind! Stop stepping on the scale. Stop counting calories. Stop beating yourself up. Weight loss is a process, so here are a few things I’d like you to start from right now:
- Every time you exercise, congratulate yourself. You’ve taken one step toward achieving your weight loss desire. GO YOU!!!
- Every morning and every night, spend a minute (68 seconds in fact) visualising yourself at your new weight. What will you look like? How will you feel? How will you walk? What will your friends and family say when they see you?
- ENJOY THE PROCESS!!! If you’re not having fun with this, then you’re doing it wrong! Make it fun by mixing things up. Join a social touch football team or something else that gets you moving and socialising at the same time.
