			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>There is one thing you MUST do if you&#8217;re ever going to succeed at losing weight.  This thing has nothing to do with buying the right exercise equipment, or joining a gym or even writing out your eating plans. In fact, it has nothing to do with the actual process of losing weight at all!</p>
<p>Ok, I bet you&#8217;re wondering what this &#8220;thing&#8221; is, right?</p>
<p>Well&#8230; it&#8217;s quite a simple &#8220;thing&#8221;!</p>
<p>What you must do if you&#8217;re ever going to succeed at losing weight, is to work out WHY you want to lose weight!</p>
<p>If your reasoning is &#8220;because my doctor said I needed to&#8221;, or &#8220;because I feel fat&#8221;, then it&#8217;s unlikely you&#8217;ll lose the weight and keep it off for very long.  In fact, you may eventually put on more weight than when you started!</p>
<p>Ok, so what if you could come up with a better reason to lose weight?  Would that make a difference? </p>
<p>You bet it will!</p>
<p>Often what happens is that you start off feeling all motivated, you join the gym and you train religiously.  Until something else comes along to distract you.  Next you&#8217;re making excuses as to why you can&#8217;t go to the gym tonight, then this week, then this month, and eventually you&#8217;re not going at all.</p>
<p>The reason why this happens is because once the initial motivation dies off, there&#8217;s nothing left to inspire you to keep going.  You&#8217;re not working towards achieving something you&#8217;re passionate about.</p>
<p>Let me give you some examples of inspirational reasons to lose weight</p>
<p>-You have a lifelong dream of competing in a triathlon, so in order to achieve this goal, you need to train regularly and eat properly &#8211; this of course will move you towards your weight loss goal too.</p>
<p>-  You have young children and it is your number one priority to see them grow up and raise their own children.  You want to be there for all of that, and you want to be the best grandparent ever.  If you&#8217;re overweight now, your chances of being around when they come along are reduced, and it&#8217;s not like you&#8217;ll be able to get around as much and spend quality time with your grandchildren anyway because of your weight.</p>
<p>- You have a friend or family member who died or is seriously ill or disabled due to their obesity.  You want to lose weight in their honour.</p>
<p>- You have seen what happens to somebody who is seriously overweight and you NEVER want to be in that situation &#8211; EVER.</p>
<p>- You have a goal to inspire young people and you want to live by example where your health is concerned.</p>
<p>These are just some of the many reasons why somebody would want to lose weight, and notice that none of them are because &#8220;somebody told me I should lose weight&#8221;.  They&#8217;re reasons that come from your heart.</p>
<p>Basically it comes down to this:  You need to believe that losing weight is going to bring you a LOT more benefits than staying as you are or gaining weight.  You also need to believe that staying as you are or gaining weight will be the worst of the worst outcomes!</p>
<p>So here&#8217;s an exercise for you:</p>
<p>Grab a notebook (or even post it in the comments here!), and write down as many reasons as you possibly can as to why losing weight and getting fit is going to be the best thing ever!  Remember your reasons as to &#8220;why&#8221; you want to lose weight and include them here!</p>
<p>Now, write down all of the reasons why staying as you are or gaining weight is going to be the worst thing ever!</p>
<p>Try to make your &#8220;good&#8221; list longer if you can!  <img src='http://overweightandunhappy.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif' alt=';)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>Now, the next time you&#8217;re lacking motivation or inspiration, look at your lists and feel the difference inside you!</p>

<p>So what is the best way to pick a weight loss program that will get you results?</p>
<p>In the following paragraphs, you&#8217;re going to learn the best way to lose weight, and you will be pleasantly surprised at how simple it can be.</p>
<p>The first thing you need to look at is your current diet. Sadly, if you currently have an unhealthy diet, then you are going to need to make some changes!</p>
<p>So have a good look at what you eat each day, and ensure that you are eating healthy, fresh, whole foods. Be sure to include foods that are rich in protein, such as lean meat, chicken and fish, and fruits and vegetables should also play a major part in your overall diet. This meal should form part of up to 7 meals you eat each day, in order to keep your metabolism running at an optimum level. Of course, now that you are eating more often, you should reduce the size of each meal.</p>
<p>There is another aspect to weight loss, and that&#8217;s an exercise. You must exercise. If you truly want to lose weight and keep it off, then you must incorporate exercise into your weight loss program in order to achieve success.</p>
<p>What you must understand too, is that the older you get, the slower your metabolism. So in order to maintain your weight, you need to remain active, and you may need to reduce your carry intake over time. Just be careful not to reduce your calorie intake too far, because this can sabotage your efforts. So get out there and exercise!</p>
<p>Even though you&#8217;re probably dreading having to exercise, the good news is that you will not need to spend hours upon hours exercising each day.</p>
<p>Really, as long as you fit in around 30 minutes a day, three times per week, then you will achieve some pretty impressive results.</p>
<p>There is such a thing as too much exercise too, because your body and muscles need time to recover you have worked them. So if you follow a respected program that has provided good results, then commit to follow that program until you get the results you want.</p>
<p>Adopting a healthy lifestyle for the rest of your life however, is the key to keeping the weight off.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I’m nearing the end of week 5 and I have to say that things are very different now compared to what they were like 5 weeks ago before I started the <a title="Fit Yummy Mummy" href="http://overweightandunhappy.com/fym.html" target="_blank">Fit Yummy Mummy</a> program!</p>
<p>I have so much more energy for starters &#8211; no longer is it an effort go get up at 5am! Who would’ve thought?</p>
<p>I am definitely fitter and what used to tire me out no longer does. Even squats are enjoyable! Not only are they enjoyable, but they no longer hurt nearly as much as they used to, and I am so much better at them!</p>
<p>At the gym I am lifting heavier weights when I do the dumbell bench press. I used to lift 5kg and now I’m up to 6kg. I didn’t think much of it until my husband said “That’s a 20% increase in strength!”. Impressive huh?</p>
<p>As for my size, well I definitely weigh less, although that does fluctuate on a daily basis, so I try to avoid the scales where possible.</p>
<p>My body also looks more defined than it did, and one bad thing has happened &#8211; my boobs are shrinking!!! ARGH!!!</p>
<p>Ok, that’s not the end of the world (that’s what push-up bras are for), and personally I’d rather feel fantastic than have nice boobs, so unfortunately the boobs will just have to take second place!</p>
<p>Looking at the positives, it means I am definitely losing fat from my body!   Woo hooo!</p>

<p>5.  “Bad” food is allowed on occasion (yay!).</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Wow!  I&#8217;m in week 5 already!  It is so hard to believe!  I feel great, I have lost some weight and I am starting to look different.</p>
<p>Today I was really looking forward to my resistance training because it meant that I was going to start another 4 weeks of new exercises and they were great!</p>
<p>I particularly loved the exercises that used my arms.  My arms have always been really skinny and shapeless.  But now, after completing only 4 weeks, the &#8220;bat wings&#8221; that were beginning to form are almost gone, and they are starting to get a really nice shape.  I am absolutely thrilled!!!</p>
<p>The food situation is still going great.  In fact, I feel like I&#8217;ve not really had to change much at all (probably because I haven&#8217;t!).  The only difference now is that I am making a conscious effort to eat every 3 hours or so.  The actual food that I eat isn&#8217;t much different, although smoothies and breakfast burritos (YUM) have taken a regular place in my diet routine.</p>
<p>I still struggle on occasion through the week to get my exercises in, but on the weekend I make sure I get them done!  I think I need to buy a skipping rope too &#8211; while it&#8217;s doing the job jumping around &#8220;pretending&#8221; I have the rope, I don&#8217;t think it&#8217;s as fun!</p>
<p>I am really enjoying the program and would recommend it to ANYONE who wants to lose weight quickly (or even slowly, but who wants to do that??).</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Amazing!  And it only took 3 weeks! </p>
<p>It&#8217;s funny though, because I only weighed myself the other day and my weight hadn&#8217;t changed much at all.  I wasn&#8217;t worried because I know I&#8217;m building muscle too &#8211; and I&#8217;m not overweight to start with!</p>
<p>So I hopped on the scales and couldn&#8217;t believe what I saw.  I had to hop off then on again three times to be sure! </p>
<p>How do I feel these days?  GREAT!  It&#8217;s a public holiday here in Australia and I am itching to get to the gym!  I absolutely love exercising these days and I am loving the new foods I am eating &#8211; things I wouldn&#8217;t have thought to eat before.  I have so much energy and a great sense of wellbeing.  Life is wonderful!</p>
