<p>Here&#8217;s what I did&#8230;.</p>

		<description><![CDATA[Today I&#8217;m doing a trial run of my triathlon.  Once Jason (my hubby) gets out of bed (it&#8217;s almost 7.20am on Sunday morning), I&#8217;ll be swimming 30 laps of the swimming pool (300m), followed by a 13.6km bike ride, followed by a 2km run.
Phew!  Wish me luck!

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It&#8217;s been a little while since my last post but training is going well &#8211; if you don&#8217;t count swimming training!  That part of my triathlon leg is still freaking me out a little, but I&#8217;m sure all will be good on the day!</p>
<p>I&#8217;m now able to run more than before, and cycling isn&#8217;t killing me as much as it used to!</p>
<p>My wonderful hubby is (finally) up to the practical part of his personal training course, and in the next week or so he has to do a video of him training me.  I hope he&#8217;s gentle! haha!  But it will be good to get some more strength training in there.  I really don&#8217;t think I&#8217;m doing enough right now, although I am starting to notice subtle fat-loss-related changes, which is good.</p>
<p>Today I am going to be securing my place as a competitor in my first triathlon too!  So this is the point of no return!  What&#8217;s even better about this is that I&#8217;ve inspired a colleague to also enter.  Competing in a triathlon has always been something she eventually wanted to do, and when I told her what I was up to, and after our first running session (intervals), she was hooked!</p>
<p>I will send her proof of my entry today, then she&#8217;s got to do the same for me &#8211; we&#8217;re keeping each other accountable which is great.</p>
<p>Actually, having somebody else to train with is a great way to keep yourself accountable because you know they&#8217;re counting on you to turn up for a training session, so if you can, see if you can find a &#8220;workout partner&#8221; to give your motivation a boost!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Ugh!  I feel terrible today!  I think something I ate yesterday disagreed with me, and I was in the bathroom for part of the night.  Not nice.</p>
<p>Today I felt tired and flat.</p>
<p>But I wondered if I should exercise regardless?  I wanted to do some Fit Yummy Mummy strength training today, but I really didn&#8217;t feel up to it.</p>
<p>So I listened to my body.  I obviously needed time to heal, so today was spent on the couch with my laptop, and I feel sooooo much better for it!  In fact, I&#8217;m looking forward to getting up in the morning to hop on my bike!</p>
<p>All I&#8217;ve got to do now is decide whether I am going to go for a ride, or stay on the wind trainer&#8230;. decisions!</p>
<p>If you&#8217;re not well, don&#8217;t try to force yourself to do what your body may not be ready for.  Listen to it and let it heal so that you can get back into your training as soon as possible!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I have 56 days left to go before my first ever triathlon, and I&#8217;ve lost around half a kilogram (one pound?) of weight.</p>
<p>Ok, it&#8217;s not much but then again I&#8217;ve not changed my eating habits at all, and I have noticed that my arms are looking leaner and my waist too.</p>
<p>There&#8217;s still a very unattractive roll around my middle that isn&#8217;t quite ready to budge, but I&#8217;m confident that it&#8217;ll soon disappear with consistent effort.</p>
<p>I suppose that&#8217;s the key &#8211; you must be consistent to see results.</p>
<p>At this point in time I&#8217;m taking one day off a week &#8211; usually Saturday &#8211; and I feel GREAT!</p>
<p>I went for a bike ride yesterday in the early hours of the morning (left home at 4.30am) and loved it!  It was windy and quite cool, but I did good time, and even rode up my driveway afterwards!</p>
<p>I&#8217;ve decided that I need to incorporate strength training into my routine though, because I want to accellerate my weight loss (obviously bigger muscles means more fat loss), so my <a title="Fit Yummy Mummy" href="http://overweightandunhappy.com/fym.html" target="_blank">Fit Yummy Mummy</a> ebook is coming out again because I know it works because I&#8217;ve used it before.  I&#8217;m looking forward to it!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I can&#8217;t believe I&#8217;m up to day 9 already!  I decided last Tuesday to compete in the triathlon and here I am a week later, and STILL feeling motivated (surprise surprise!).</p>
<p>I decided to do my 2.5km run in intervals, rather than trying what I know I&#8217;m not yet capable of &#8211; running the entire way! haha!</p>
<p>So I did one minute of walking, followed by 30 seconds of running and I did ok &#8211; I even finished off with a sprint up some stairs &#8211; a huge accomplishment!</p>
<p>I&#8217;m still yet to get Jason to take some pickies of me so might do that this Sunday&#8230; might weigh myself too!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><img class="alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-338" title="995897_36063553" src="http://overweightandunhappy.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/995897_36063553-150x150.jpg" alt="995897_36063553" width="150" height="150" />OMG I cannot believe how much my calf muscles hurt!  This was all caused by the Wii Active that Jason bought me for Christmas.  I told him that the Wii Fit Plus was too easy and to get me something harder.  Weeellll&#8230; it&#8217;s harder all right!</p>
<p>I thought I was being &#8220;smart&#8221; when I chose the &#8220;hard&#8221; workout, thinking I&#8217;d do it easily!  Ok, I did get through it, but it was hard, and now I can&#8217;t even walk properly!</p>
<p>I went for a run today with what turned out to be one Italian work friend today.  She killed me.  I am soo soo sooooo unfit!  I also forgot to take a puff of my asthma puffer beforehand, so you can just imagine what it was like&#8230;</p>
<p>So I did almost 3km of alternating walking and running.  The good thing is, that even though my legs were killing me, and even though I couldn&#8217;t breathe, I kept going, even if it was slow!</p>
<p>Tomorrow&#8217;s the bike and swimming, so wish me luck!</p>

<p>This morning I did strength and cardio and it was HARD!!</p>
<p>I did another 300m swim tonight and it was a LOT easier than yesterday, so I&#8217;m pretty chuffed with that!</p>
