Setting goals to lose weight

If you want to lose weight you must set yourself a goal.  Not doing so will cause you to wander aimlessly, not knowing where you’re up to or how you’re going.

A quality goal must meet the following criteria:

1.  It must be Specific – You know you need to lose weight, but just saying “I really need to lose weight…”, is not enough.  Your goal must be well-defined.  Be as specific as possible.

2.  It must be Measurable – Be clear how you will recognize when you have achieved your goal weight.  What exactly do you want to weigh?  What will your future dress size be?  Are you starting to get excited?  Think about how achieving this goal is going to make you feel!

3.  It must be Attainable –  Setting yourself goals that you cannot possibly achieve will only end in disappointment.  Make your goal challenging but realistic.  Are you able to do what needs to be done?  Does your timeframe give you enough time to achieve your goal?  Set yourself up for success!

4.  It must be Relevant – Step back and get an overview of all the different areas of your life.  Consider how relevant your goal is to the overall picture.

5.  Time – Set a time scale for completion of your goal.  Does this allow enough time to safely achieve your goal?  For those doing the Fit Yummy Mummy Summer Transformation Challenge, you can set yourself a date in 12 weeks from the day you started because that’s when the challenge will end!

What’s your weight loss goal?

It’s all well and good to have a goal to lose weight, but how will you know if you’ve made progress or even achieved your goal?

If you’ve purchased the Fit Yummy Mummy or the Truth About Abs program you will realise pretty quickly that looking great is less about losing weight (although this does play a part) and more about losing inches!

How do you want to feel once you’ve achieved your goal?  What will you look like?  Think about this before you start, and write them down.

I find it helpful if you take some “before” photos.  Take a picture of yourself from the front, back and side.  Embark on a plan like the two mentioned above, and at the end of 12 weeks or so, take some “after” photos and see your amazing results!

Seeing progress will give you the confidence to continue on the road to looking fabulous!

Before long your weight loss goal will be achieved and the time when you felt fat and frumpy will be a distant memory…!

The Fit Yummy Mummy 12 Week Transformation Challenge is coming!

If you’re desperate to lose weight quickly, then how does making amazing changes to your body in 12 weeks sound?

Join the Fit Yummy Mummy program before the end of July and you will be eligible to join the Fit Yummy Mummy 12 Week Transformation Challenge.

Just imagine this. In 12 weeks you look and feel great. You would have lost several pounds, you will be fitter, healthier and happier. You will have so much energy and a calming sense of well being. Your “fat” clothes will no longer fit you and your new “skinny” clothes look fantastic on you! If you have a partner, they will definitely be impressed with your amazing transformation, as will your friends and family!

If you’ve been looking for the motivation to get out there and finally lose weight once and for all, then you must join the Fit Yummy Mummy program now, so you can be ready to register for the challenge in July!

I look forward to seeing you there because I will be registering too!

Staying Motivated To Lose Weight

Staying motivated to lose weight isn’t easy.  If you’re like most people who want to lose weight, then you probably want to lose weight fast, right?

Unfortunately, in many cases, it’s going to take a fair bit longer than “fast”!

All is not lost though and this is why.

Whilst things might not be happening as fast as you would like, breaking your weight loss goal into smaller “chunks” can help you to perceive things to be quicker.

For example, you could have a goal to lose 60 pounds in 12 months.  Instead of working towards that goal, why not aim for losing 5 pounds a month?

Not only does this seem more achievable, but every time you reach your goal, you will become more and more motivated to continue on.  Your belief in yourself will also be higher.
